I was born and raised in Brazil and have lived in Iowa with my family for many years. Living between two cultures and moving through different seasons of life has deepened my interest in understanding people, relationships, and the many ways we learn to adapt to the experiences we have.
Again and again, I found myself sitting with women who were frustrated with themselves and wondering if there was more to the story than what appeared on the surface.
Why can someone know exactly what they want to change and still find it difficult to do it?
Why do certain habits, reactions, and patterns continue showing up even when they no longer seem to make sense?
Over the years, these questions led me toward trauma-informed and mind-body approaches that look beyond behavior itself and explore what may be underneath it.
What I have learned is that many of the things women judge themselves for make much more sense when they are understood in the context of their lives, experiences, emotions, and body responses.
Today, my work focuses on helping women better understand themselves through the connection between their thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and the patterns that continue showing up in their lives.
I believe that meaningful change often begins with understanding rather than judgment, curiosity rather than criticism, and learning how to listen to what the body may be trying to communicate.
Safety in the Body was created from that belief.
